You want to dance?

Here are a few shots I took of A Bear at dance the other day. She is learning her dances for her recital and all the girls are too precious for words! Their tap dance is to the song "You've Got A Friend in Me!" I get a lot of joy watching my girls dance :)

Valentine's Morning for the girls

The girls woke up to a candy trail going down the stairs. They were thrilled to be able to have a few pieces of chocolate for breakfast (not a habit that we repeat often). Then they found their valentine goodies from Daddy and I on the table. We had a yummy breakfast of heart shaped muffins and pears! We love you A Bear and MM!

Daddy's Valentine's surprise

A fun and cheap way to tell Daddy that we love him!

Valentine's 2008

This year we celebrated Valentine's Day a day late so the whole family could be together and be a little rested from the crazy week. I was told by B to have the girls and myself dressed for church and to pick him up from work at 4:30. He had made reservations some where for 5:00pm. So we did just that - the girls wanted to shower to get ready for their date with daddy and boy did they look pretty all dressed up with smiles from ear to ear. Little did we know, B had made reservations to take his girls to the local winery restaurant. He took us to the Village of Messina Hof. The girls were really excited about being at such a fancy restaurant and I was totally surprised! ( I thought it was brave of B to make reservations for our kids to come eat here!) They really surprised us though - they were well behaved, we had actual dinner table conversation, and two hours just for the four of us. It was fantastic. B and I sampled some wines and tried to get a 1997 port to bring home for later but the oldest one they had was 2001...another good year in our lives (the year MM was born!) We had the best pork chops I have had in a long time - they were cooked in a grape sauce....Yum! Yum! After the meal, we of course had a great dessert - strawberry flambay! They made it right in front of us and the girls really enjoyed watching the process. But the best part of the evening, for me at least, was when we all had to make a run for it to the car and the pouring rain - I do not think the four of us have laughed that hard together in a long time! We were soaked and giggling to no end by the time we got to the car. Thanks for making this Valentine's Day a memorable one B! I love you!

What am I eating???

This past week we took our girls to Wing's for dinner. We have been eating there weekly since returning here in June. About three months ago, MM decided to start eating wings (mild) just like her Daddy (but his are too hot for words). She has been enjoying them and even asking for us to order her an adult meal because she wants more. A Bear has also started eating them (probably the last 3 times we have gone to eat there). But this all came to a halt last week when I asked,

" How is your chicken, Molly?"

MM said to me that she was not eating chicken...she was eating wings. I told her that she was eating wings - CHICKEN WINGS. From that point in the meal on, she pushed her basket away and refused to eat anymore. Maybe we have a future vegetarian in the family (this will make Aunt Kellie happy).

Just so she knows what she is eating now, Brent is announcing it before our meals. The other night we had pork chops and he made sure to tell her "We are eating pig tonight!" We will see if she goes on a meat strike or not!

I will let you know how this week's wing's meal goes...

Weekend of Parties

Too cute for words...just had to snap this picture :)
All the way to the top: go, go, go!
Our A Bear crawling like a bear

This weekend the girls went to two birthday parties and had a great time. The first party was at a gym and then the girls got to go sledding down Mount Aggie yesterday. You read that right - sledding in Texas in February. They had a blast! Enjoy the pics.

Oh that stinker...

If I have told her once I have told her a thousand times... "it is not nice to stick your tongue out at people!" And she thought I didn't see her :)

I am just too cute....aren't I?

This morning, B and I got to visit A Bear's classroom to see them interacting with each other in centers, carpet time, singing, and practicing their bible verses. We them were able to go to the school's art show and see all the neat projects they have been working on. After seeing their art, the little ones took us outside to show us their favorite toys and play areas on the play ground. A Bear was having so much fun that she seems a little bothered when we asked her a hug and kiss goodbye. I love our little A Bear and we love that she loves school :)

Play day on the Koenig Farm

Two weeks ago, we spent a relaxing afternoon at our Home Church Leader's home. The girls enjoyed playing with all the other kids as well as the horses, dogs, and one fat cat. MM was able to join the men when they went skeet shooting and A Bear had fun dressing up and playing the mud. The pace of being out in the country is something that I desire for some day!
(MM was off on her own with the older kids all day so I was not able to get pics of her!)

Morning Assembly

This month MM class got to be in charge of the morning assembly duties. MM was in charge of the Texas Pledge on her day. How many of you know the Texas Pledge? Well I did know the Texas pledge when I taught...but since it has been a few years they have changed it. They changed it to include "under God"! It's is great but it is hard to say it like that. Her is MM in all her "Texas Pledge" glory.

Here is the Texas Pledge for all of you thinking what is it:

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee,

Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."

what to do with the peanut butter stuck on the empty jar walls...

Give it to the dog for some great protein, great exercise in patience and a way to keep the dog out from under your feet when it is too cold for them to be outside! Enjoy!
